Granted July 19, 2005
Inventors: Robert L. Johnson, Natalia Gorawski, Barry O'Dwyer

A hermetic filter assembly which improves filter life and environmental stability. The elimination of optical epoxies in this air-spaced filter results in reduced auto-fluorescence, improved parallelism and flatness, and improved heat tolerance. 3rd Millennium filters were originally based on this technology- currently RapidBand filters are made with a similar technique.

Filter Design
Technical and application notes
To understand blocking, one has to understand the concept of optical density (OD). In an interference filter, OD is generated by reflecting unwanted light back instead of letting it go through the filter.

Technical and application notes

Learn what a bandpass filter is and the features that should be considered when designing a bandpass filter. Omega can design and manufacture a custom filter that will differentiate your product.
